Why does the Galvanic Spa instrument beep?

When you begin a treatment, you will hear one, two, or three beeps as the instrument automatically sets the current level for your skin type.  You will also hear beeps at 20 second intervals during your treatment.  These beeps were added to let the user know the treatment is in progress.  In addition, you will hear two beeps when the treatment is complete.
